However,theRomanEmpirewasalsoknownforitscrueltyandbrutality.Slaverywascommonthroughouttheempire,aswereexecutionsandtorture.TheRomanswerealsoknownfortheirpersecutionofChristians,whichledtomanymartyrsduringthisperiod.
TheRomanEmpireeventuallyfellin476ADduetointernalstrifeandexternalpressuresfrominvadingforces.However,itslegacystilllivesontodayinmanyways.Itslawsarestillstudiedbylawyersaroundtheworld,whileitsartandarchitecturecontinuetoinspirepeopleeverywhere.Theterm“EmpireofEvil”isoftenusedtorefertoanyoppressiveregimethatcausessufferinganddestructiononalargescale.
